I too am not a fan of the wheel covers on Cybertruck, or the special tires with the grooved sidewall. Production versions would be wise to go with something factory spec like Duratrac tires that seem ubiquitous with “off road” trim levels from the big 3. Im hoping for a black H1 looking...
I don’t know for sure if they are intended as toe holds, but looks like they probably were if you compare how this vehicle sits on its “skateboard” vs the seamless nature of Tesla’s other cars. However if they aren’t, they should be. Building in access steps is one of the most underrated but...
This sounds awful. Compared to the lifestyles we enjoy in middle America, being charged out the butt for the privilege of heating your home during the day is archaic and backwards. If this is the trend moving forward with “on peak, off peak” energy billing count me out. To the OP, keep your...
It is in his mind and that’s what matters. At this point in history, an ICE car and and EV car are both fossil fuel powered. Someday maybe not, but if one really wanted to help the environment in an impactful way they wouldn’t drive a car at all, nonetheless buy a brand new car that has to be...
Actually Cheney’s incident involved birdshot which is far smaller and lighter than buckshot, so if his hunting buddy was in a Cybertruck, he’d have likely been unharmed... (cue Tesla satire commercial)
Think Lee company, every plumbing or pest control franchise, U-haul etc. Pretty much anytime you see a branded white work truck with big company logos, it’s being deployed as part of a larger “fleet” of company owned vehicles. Cybertruck stands to compete with the big three for those contracts...
Cheaper yes, and the single motor crew cab is VERY close to the crew cab W/T trim levels from the other makers in price. Fuel costs and maintenance will tip the scale as well marginally, but only if Tesla nails reliability on this model.
Make no mistake, private truck buyers will be some of the last to give up ICE. While it makes enormous sense to go EV for deliveries and fleet truck usage, the traditional “truck guy” will scoff at an electric Rivian for $80k vs a Ford Raptor or the like. The ICE F150 is still the benchmark and...
This is fantastic if it works, I love seeing the free market and social capitalism solving this. First step is more efficient panels, step 2, figure out how to scale and make them affordable to mass produce and incorporate into building construction.
Only dude who’s never heard of Joe Rogan ?
I don’t think they will drop the single motor for a while. My limited understanding of the economics of it suggest that they are really banking on the single motor for fleet sales and commercial useage, not to mention getting that base price for a crew...
Less than half of what we currently use, and not including moving the entire transportation and logistics sector onto that grid as well. Solar panels on every single roof in America is definitely not something that could happen quickly with the stroke of a pen by a politician. Solar panels are...
Seems like the problem is the Sun, not the panels. He acknowledged there are more efficient panels, but only 5-10% more efficient for 10x-15x the cost. The problem he summarized, was that the Sun only creates a certain amount of energy, no matter how effective we are at collecting it.
Still the same OAL as a Chevy Suburban guys, so it’s not a big change. Crucially, it’ll be under 19.5 feet long, which WILL fit in almost all standard US garage bays. I’m for it ?
