I just watched this YT video on the viability of wireless charging for EV's, which seems like a no-brainer to me and the inevitable future, and am wondering if this is on Tesla's radar at all.
Tesla has a vested interest in reducing/eliminating range anxiety, and also in an autonomous fleet...
For anyone interested, do a google search of "perovskite solar cells". 40% efficiency seems like it may not be too far away. More efficient, inexpensive, flexible, works in low light...
I wonder why he was so adamant that solar panels would never get more efficient than 25-30%. Increased efficiency seems like the most obvious way to make vehicles with solar panels practical.
I would like to know more details about the solar option because this in my opinion is what makes the CT truly unique. Lots of EVs will eventually have long range, and there will be other EV trucks, but CT is the first vehicle that, because of its surface area, makes solar charging feasible.
Let's hope Jay asks better questions in the full episode than "what kind of glass?" and "is it bulletproof?" (i.e. things that have been covered ad nauseam already).
