Spending $20k to $40k more and the best ICE truck that they have thrown everything conceivably possible into, and it still can't compete in even a single category.
And we haven't even started talking about oil changes, air filters, brake pads, general maintenance, etc.
Throw in FSD for free...
Another thing about the RAV4 Prime is Toyota is only producing 5,000 of them this year, even though they could probably sell 10 times that. I refuse to get on a dealer waiting list and pay a dealer markup fee.
Either an epic fail, or can't get the batteries to do more.
Seeing videos of Tesla sedans driving through impressive depths of water that would easily turn ICE vehicles into bricks is encouraging, especially with 16 inch ground clearance in the CT.
With the flat bottom, would seem to skim across fairly deep flood waters at a high rate.
Personally, I believe that Tesla should NOT build a 2WD to protect the CT reputation as being "badass."
Can't have a Ford Escort from 40 years ago out-accelerating it from a stoplight just because the street has a light mist on it. More than embarrassing!
We had a light rain this week, and I watched a rear-wheel drive Dodge PU spin repeatedly, 4 times, from a stop light to get started.
I want 4WD. Resale value will be higher too.
Anybody who has thought about it for 5 seconds KNOWS that these will be destroyed by any curb.
They will be completely destroyed churning in sand or mud.
They will be completely destroyed by rocks when off-roading in the first 5 minutes.
For an "indestructible" truck, obvious weaknesses have...
Lately, pulling up behind every truck at stoplights, I have noticed how low the differential and shocks hang.
It is obvious how they get easily stuck in sand and mud when these items start dragging bottom. I noticed a 2021 Tahoe today that looked really low. Looked it up, 7.9 inches, but...
"Is Teslacam footage admissible in court? How can it be proven it wasn't tampered with?"
Because the video is probably provided to law enforcement within minutes, and deepfakes take days with tons of very expensive equipment and personnel to pull off even halfway convincing tampered video.
There's a new, extremely loud, Mustang in my neighborhood that I can't wait to drag race at the nearby location.
He will probably spin-out sideways into the ditch.
1. Grow a pair and keep it. (It's too big, she said. I thought you liked it big, he said.)
2. Buy in hopes of selling for a small profit.
3. Ask for the refundable $100 back.
4. Get a new wife.
So many options...
Having had 2 Priuses with regenerative braking, I only used the brake pads about once per 12,000 miles, would have easily lasted over 5 million miles, given my driving style.
With Tesla, I anticipate no wear items in the first 500k miles, other than tires, cabin air filter, and wipers.
I've had 2 Priuses and a Camry, and was about to buy a Prius Prime, but Toyota wouldn't even offer the latest Toyota Safety Sense suite that had been in the Camry for quite awhile.
I was also very interested in the RAV4 Prime, but now I'm into Tesla.
Bye Toyota.
Another thing I envisioned was a drone that could be deployed from the frunk area that flies ahead looking for cops, etc. It would have to self-regulate past power lines, bridges, etc. Not very feasible, but 10 years away.
