Tesla must be using thier new cells for the CT and the Semi before anything else. Would be interesting to see if the 4680 form factor is just for their heavy duty lineup.

Though, I think the Model Y made in Germany will have the casting layout and I assumed the new cells. Guess we will find out next year.

OK, it definitely was not clear to me from battery day that:

we’ve actually had our cells in packs driving cars for several months​

That seems to make everything about battery day seem much more immediate. Basically it sounds like the the improvements are real and have been tested in real world situations. Just that the scaled up production is what is still in process.

OK then!! The CT itself isn’t waiting on battery tech. Just the volume of CTs will be slower till the battery production issues are finalized. So the development of the CT can continue unabated. And by the time the CT production line is ready maybe the battery production line will be too!!! ??

No, clearly not. As the accompanying graphic shows everything will use the 3680 container. What will differ is the cathode composition which will depend on the application.
