Elon needed a whole bunch of StarLink satellites to make his StarLink network work.
“Curses!” he shouted at the yellow pad on his desk. “Each one of these damn things takes 80 hours to build and I can’t wait for two weeks for the next.”
Wiping a tear from the corner of his eye, he cried, “I don’t want to play any more! There is no God! The universe stinks! I’m gonna take my ball and go home!”

Elon needed a whole bunch of StarLink satellites to make his StarLink network work. But making each one took over 80 hours of workbench time.
While noodling on a pad at his desk, he fidgeted with Slipsy, his favorite slide rule. Suddenly his eyebrows shot up.
“Wholly cow,” he whispered. “Oh, how I love it when Newton’s Fluxions slams into Chaos Theory, making everything right again!”
His finger jabbed the “Talk” button on the intercom hardwired to the outer office.
“Ms McGillicuddy, Assemble the whole Engineering Team in the Big Conference Room posthaste, I’ve had a breakthrough!”
Moments later the room bristled with designers, mathematicians, rocket scientists and future Nobel Prize Winners. Elon entered the room buoyantly, spinning Slipsy in his fingers.
“I’ve got it! The satellite numbers problem.”
Everyone broke eye contact, suddenly more interested in their collective shoes. Silence solidified the room.
Elon smiled. “Simplicity itself! All we have to do is...”
A single clear female voice joined his in perfect harmony.
“Make more workbenches” they both said in unison.
“Um, yes,” said Elon softly, a slight catch in his throat.
Her vice returned. “This also might apply to our Cybertruck thing?” she added.
Elon’s eyebrows lifted once more.
